D'Ieteren to introduce Rimac electric hypercars
We know D'Ieteren as an importer of brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Audi, but it also has super exclusive brands such as Bugatti, Lamborghini and Bentley in its portfolio. That already impressive line-up is now being reinforced with the Croatian brand of electric hypercars Rimac. This was announced this morning during a press conference in the Brussels Autoworld museum.
Rimac Automobili is still a young company – it was founded in Croatia in 2009 – but it quickly established itself as a reference for highly exclusive electric super sports cars. Exclusive refers to both the numbers produced and the price. Only 150 units of the Nevera shown in Brussels will be built at the Rimac factory in Zagreb. With a workforce of 1,300 employees – including just 1,100 engineers – Rimac stands for state-of-the-art technology on wheels and unprecedented top performance.
“The first contacts between the D'Ieteren Automotive Luxury Division and Rimac Automobili were established in July 2021,” said David Favest, General Manager for the Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti brands. “The dynamism and passion of Mate Rimac had convinced us before. Since then, part of his business evolved into Bugatti Rimac. Also note that Porsche AG plays an important role there, as a strategic partner and owner of 45 percent of the shares of Bugatti Rimac. In short, it is a very solid company, both financially and technologically. D'Ieteren is therefore very honored to become one of the first distributors of Rimac in Europe, after those of England, Spain and Germany.”
Nevera: staggering numbers
The Nevera more than lives up to its name as a hypercar: 1,914 hp, a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds ... and in just 9.3 seconds the car can reach a speed of 300 km/h. The top speed is a dizzying 412 km/h. All that muscle-rolling also has a corresponding price tag: prices from 2.1 million euros. Anyone who can cough up that amount can go to D'Ieteren's Bentley and Lamborghini branch in Drogenbos

D'IETEREN TO DISTRIBUTE RIMAC IN BELGIUM AND LUXEMBOURG
The Belgian group d'Ieteren, known as an importer of Volkswagen products, will from now on import Rimac's electric supercars in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Rimac Automobili is a Croatian car company that was founded in 2009 by Mate Rimac. After converting his old BMW 3 into an electric car, Mate, then still in his early twenties, conceived the plan to build electric supercars. For the parts he needed for this, he went to major German brands, including Porsche, but they laughed at him because of too low volumes and therefore too high costs. That is why Mate decided to produce the pieces himself. That turned out to be a success story, and today Rimac supplies parts and engineering services to the major car groups. They also have their own supercar on offer, the Nevera, which is being built in limited numbers.
Link with Porsche and Bugatti
Meanwhile, Porsche has become a shareholder of Rimac, and even Bugatti has merged with Rimac.
With so much intertwining between Volkswagen's performance brands and Rimac, it is only logical that VW importer d'Ieteren will introduce Rimac's sports cars.
